Mary Beth Sampson

Mary Beth Sampson is a singer songwriter based in Wichita, Kansas. A graduate of Friends University, she has participated in many vocal ensembles and big bands over the years. Her velvety voice oscillates her between many different styles of music with powerful and controlled notes. She is a vocal coach of 11 years and has won multiple awards for her vocal work. Under her belt is a recorded album called Discovering Home and several recorded works with her husband-wife duo group SAMPSON. She also makes appearances with local band, Daydream in person and on their album “Squiggle.” She has performed with many names in jazz, one nationally renowned highlight being Connaitre Miller and Cyrus Chesnut. Sampson is a former lead singer of the Wichita-based Aerotones big band as well. It’s very possible you have seen her performing jazz standards locally with good friends.

After traveling through many roads and cultures, Sampson has found her unique voice and springs it into action through songwriting. With a love for neo-soul, gospel, and music that hits straight into your soul (no matter what genre), she delivers a powerful lyric meant to move the listener’s heart. With a love for people and connecting deeply, she hopes her music resonates with her audience and that the feeling of being known would bring peace in whatever season they are in. She does not adhere to one genre in songwriting, but instead the colorful sounds and pictures she can paint with the music.

In her spare time she loves spending time with her family, eating good food, going on walks, and reading books with her favorite person in the world, her daughter.
